I Remember Poem by Catlin Kehoe

I Remember

I remember back then,
When monsters lived under my bed.
There was a whole world under there,
Where creatures lived and dragons fed.
Adventure waited around every corner,
The world was my play ground.
And somewhere there was a great toy,
Just waiting to be found.

I remember back then,
On a stormy night.
Great claps of thunder,
Just angels playing their drums of fright.
The lightning flashed,
Lit up the sky.
But my parents would cheer me up,
Calling me their special little guy.

I remember back then,
When I was a child.
Now that I think about it,
Those times were really wild.
When I go back to those days,
My lips curve into a smile.
But now I'm 16,
And those days go back a mile.
