You'Re Leaving (To A Country And Western Tune) Poem by Mark E Webster

You'Re Leaving (To A Country And Western Tune)

Rating: 5.0

I can't believe you're leaving me
Don't know why you have to go
Sun's falling down to the west of me
Moon's got that soft solemn glow
And I'm hurting
How can you stand there and say
That after a life time together
You have to leave me this way
I don't know what I've done to you
I've always loved you so
I've let you do what you had to do
Never believed you would go
But you're leaving
How can you leave me this way
You said you'd love me forever
I never dreamed of this day
And the stars are shining less brightly
The sky tells a story so sad
You've cast a darkness around me
Took all of the love that I had
And I'm empty
My heart is there on the floor
I can't believe you're leaving me
And walking right out of that door
I'll cry an ocean behind you
I'll see the wonder no more
I can't believe that you're leaving me
And walking right out of that door

Great poem. I have voted it a ten. You should hire a musician to set it to music. If you like Country and Western music, you should check out my poems COUNTRY CROONERS and I WANT TO SING WITH WILLIE. Keep on writing!
