You did not just understand me
but time and again you did stand by me,
when life did bring heartache
you did jump in between,
did give me courage again,
did help heal my open wounds
and left more of your humanity in my heart
when with love you were right there
and always you did know
exactly how I am as a human being,
even when I did forget my poetry
it did still matter to you
and constantly now I do calculate:
that you do mean much more than all other things to me.
