Yet Forget Me For Awhile, Remember Me Afterwards Poem by Mary Wismer

Yet Forget Me For Awhile, Remember Me Afterwards

Rating: 5.0

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
you tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
it will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.

It's Christina Rosetti's 'remember me'. She wrote some beautiful things.

as i can not but renmember the golden yet past into the dusts of time as the touch of the fossil tells me the woes of the love, i cannot but forget the hurtful sorrows being coursed by remorse the cutting ede of silence as when retorted by repentance as when i remember the warmth of morning sun i simply loose the glimpses of love resourced from the blue moon but i love the time yet of repose tonight, yet hurtful thought, and i disagee but i promise its due of 10+, thanks for sharing
