Wild Flower - Water Lily Poem by Santanu Karmakar

Wild Flower - Water Lily

Amidst the little rocks filled with mosses surrounding
on the still water, saw flat green leaves with faint furry coat,
sprinkling the golden rays of sun with the droplets of water glittering
floating around on the water like a light shinny boat.

The first rains of the season, it welcomed with it's smile
blowing wind and the bouncing leaves changed the world
silently it takes my mind and stops me for a while
with its enchanting beauty, the petals enfold stamens of gold.

The deepgreen leaves floating on the surface
reflects the the rays of early sunlight on its sheath
surrounded by the old muddy corners of the pond
where it lives, protects the tiny creatures underneath.

The dark lake by the mountains, unfold wet sleepy fragnence
In the night under the sky on the bed of silver waves
The moon is floating on wavy surface of silence
And the lily raises forming shades of brilliant shapes.
