Why did you?

Heard a bang while working on movie
-my "Could Be"
-on glass of window heard a sound
-suddenly


An expert thanks to age
-I could say
-it was soft; doubtlessly
-a rag or a balloon with water
-or thick air
-came to mind: "Maybe bird! "

Checked from balcony
-on ground, on grass
-saw fallen "blue jay"
-took the key and went fast
-flew as does breeze

Two round eyes of black turquoise
-were open
-bird intact, in one piece
-powerless seemed one wing
-feathers were colourful

Fast I was in lifting
-"Will report and save it…"
-"No games and no play, motionless;
-No feeding…keep it warm."

I recalled the news, my readings…
-so I did…

Offices are good in advertise
-and in talk, and on line
-in action no reply
-Time crawled concord-like
-bird became cold, stiff
-bones metal…
-overall concrete…

My heart was broken…
-eyes got wet
-volcano, my brain
-I damned life and swore
-will swear, forever…
-to my end…

Feel ashamed
Feel ashamed

Forgive me Future…
-most of birds
-will be gone and distinct
-they join the mammoths
-and dinosaurs…
-if ever a trace…
-will be myths…

The only criminal on this land
-human, human, human

In the past
-low buildings
-windows had no glow
-sun was one
-real one
-now suns are millions
-and the birds become fooled
-fly there they see lights
-which are false
-right in thoughts
-they are led to their deaths
-the end is in windows in waiting…

The birds hit the building
-every year
-millions

Feel ashamed
Feel ashamed

Future
Forgive me
Forgive me

And you bird
-why here?
-why hitting my window?
-did you not know my heart?
-in this poor bone chest
-have a heart of sponge
-absorbs pain and is soft…

Good news came when I
-threw bird back
-outside
-though was dead
-on branch it landed
-still there…
-looks as if it has perched

Funny and miraculous
-I would not be able
-to do so
-even if I had the intention…
