Who Cares Poem by Amitava Sur

Who Cares

Call of aging is always there
But do we at all really care!
How many of us do think for self
Then how many of us do think for others?

Mostly, we go on enjoying party dine and drink
Junk food, rich food, red meat and wine.
We don’t care even we’re aging
Eating junk foods, late nights, smoking and party.
Merrily we continue till our body gives a break
In kidney heart lung or in the joints with a kick.

Then only we realize that yes we are aging
But by that time it’s too late for our curing.
Mostly, this is the way we end our life
With pains miseries for being care free at large.

Hey - don’t feel sorry, thinking I know a lot
And I'll be a centurion by abiding them out right.
Ha Ha - I’m also a walker walking with you -
In the same path with same pace as many of you.

Johny Johny - walk down
The hell is in front of you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It's a light hearted satiric write up on our careless views to our aging by most us.

Great thought-provoking poem on aging. At a very young age, I would think of growing old, but innocently thinking it wouldn't happen to me. Now a senior, thinking and experiencing it first hand and constantly writing about it's effect on the quality of my life. Your poem hits home for sure. RoseAnn

Yes, we age quite unnoticed, (though others notice it) and continue with our old habits! A sedentary life can enhance the aging process! Though we cannot unwind time and reverse the aging. process.. still with careful modifications to our life style, we can assure quality living, though it may not be possible for everyone to be a centenarian! Interesting write! I invite you to read my poem on aging... Sunset!

Very true said. How much do we care for ourselves, especially when our nos. of visits to doctor increases then with many medicines to be swallowed at a time, make us realise... Very true said Sir... Ha Ha - I’m also a walker walking with you - In the same path with same pace as many of you.Beautiful write...
