Which Came First Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Which Came First

Rating: 5.0

Searching far and wide for the essence of life,
looking everywhere, questioning everything that
is already known about it's limitless potential.

Leaving open wide gaps in knowledge because we
have no real reasons for it to be, except in
the molecular stage.

Molecules of every type giving life it's structure,
yet from there we know little more, separating
and coming together makes us think about it.

Life existing in the minutest possibilities, yet
how does it get there, it's like the chicken and
the egg.

Which came first, life or the molecule, strange
and mysterious how science cannot yet tell us
everything we want to know.

How true. The mystery of life. Some things are beyond our present ken. Gertrude Stein said something like: There ain't no answer. That's the answer. What's the question? .
