When You Wake Up
The sweet wind beats against my door
Reminding me that it's your time to
Wake up and open the windows
To inhale the scent of opening buds to
Tread upon dew soaked grasses and
Stand amidst emerging shadows
Soft ray creeps stealthily into my room
Reminding me that it's your time to
Wear colored flowers in your hair
To be with early birds picking seeds in
The barn and to run behind calves as
Your face shines in the sun's glare
Lilting tune of the running brook afar
Reminds me sound of your laugh as
You walk down to the riverside
Looking at clusters of wandering clouds
My heart jumps with a hope to meet
You and my joy I just can't hide
You bring about a beautiful dawnong, in appreciation of the promise of a new day. I am glad to wake up to this lovely poem. Have a most peace gilled and purposeful day! Glad you shared!
