When I Surrendered Poem by Muhiba Naik

When I Surrendered

Rating: 5.0

Evil danced around
mocking at my weakened soul
While angels calmed me down
when I failed to take my breath
My eyes begged for a moment of relief
As my hands showed me my forlorn state
That dark night did not seem to end
When the Angels left me to my own state....

I couldn't console even myself
For my eyes refused to drop a tear
And I shivered with fear
when thunder roared
as I could see no ray of hope

Those wounds turned scars too quick
to be left forever on my face...
Now I get a pity look
from those who notice my scars
and I drop down my eyes and head
To let them hear the dirge
I have been singing for years

I drop down my eyes and head To let them hear the dirge I have been singing for years....this is a beautiful poem...... innocence, falling into the evil hands, helplessness, struggle, complaining. even the angels left me.......... pathetic........ dirge........We all go through such situations in life.... courage and the strength to go on........... and finding consolation in the thought there is an Almighty one who sees everything............. i felt with you in this poem...whether is only a poetic imagination or truth...... thank you very much dear poetess. tony
