What You Are Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

What You Are

Rating: 4.0

Listen to me

Listen to me carefully
as I shall say it forcefully
With full blast of feelings
As it is killing me internally

Nothing has changed
Not even concept or respected for aged
No love for mankind or woman
We are suffering as human

We have gathered no threads
And remain as dead
In perception and in approach
As we have approached dead end

So listen to me with an apt silence
You should have still chance
To come up again with due respect
As it certainly demands corrective act

No doubt, women have been exploited
But this has been since we existed
In one or another form, the ladies have suffered
For sister or mother the position is not altered

To wife you may see as an object of sex medium
But not as father or brother towards them
Do you feel we are tortured to such a level?
No stories can be cited as good example
