What Will You Do? Poem by Neela Nath Das

What Will You Do?

Rating: 5.0

If I play with kite,
if I roam as the princess
of Nature's reign,
if I give embrace,
to a loving tree,
if I kiss the sky,
if I like a sea-bird,
fly, high and high....
What will you do?
Will you kill me,
will you let out poison
of tongue? Let me see!
I'm the queen of Greenland,
where innocence loves innocent,
there's no king, no tyrant's step,
none is bowed, or spineless, bent.
Who are you to determine my lot,
to limit my steps, to preach,
and teach, the moral thought?
The two souls I love, they never teach,
they know my honest world,
they know, when I enter into,
it the other things get furled.
I write, I travel, amongst the
fairies', sirens', knights'
sorceress', make-believe lands.
I ever favor them who are right!
