What We Become Poem by Dave Alan Walker

What We Become

Rating: 5.0

Is it what we see
and learn as a child
that defines what we become
or is it what we see
and learn as an adult

Or is our path
already made for us
before we are even born

Did we ever
have a choice
of what we become

while we have a destiny, we also have the choice... follow the path, or quit. it's too easy to quit, and there is no peace there. you ask good questions.

Life is a school room, I would say everything adds to what we are. However, I can imagine our ways are set, because some of us finds true happiness, some of us never do. Anyway, we are here to play out the law for each other. If you see it that way, you can see, that what one is afraid of or dwells on it too long, another person plays it out, like a sad or angry soul attracts an accident. Very interesting thought.

I believe in choice. There are hereditary and environmental forces in play, true, but many people have broke those chains and followed a dream of their own devising. Well said, thoughtful and provocative.
