What If Regrets Poem by Leaking Pen

What If Regrets

Rating: 5.0

I brush my teeth
Wash may face
Comb my hair
Answer nature's call
Questions linger on
What should I've done?
What might have been?
What should I've done?
I shine my shoes
Dress myself
Once last look in the mirror
Eyes ask what: What should I've done?
What might have been?
What should I've done?
I toast a piece of bread
Butter and Jam
Milk my cereal
Peel a banana
I peel my soul
All alone
What should I've done?
What might have been?
What should I've done?
Out the door
In my car
Leave the house
Drive my thoughts
What should I've done?
What might have been?
What should I've done?
I reach a stop
Slam the breaks
A long long pause
My pulse stops
Trees budding
Bees buzzing
Couples kissing
Hand in hand
Hope of spring
On their lips
Leaping hearts
Bouncing beats
Galloping feet
My heart is red
My sorrow excels
My heart digress
What should I've done?
What might have been?
What should I've done?
I let love go
Without a thought
Not knowing that
My heart is
On life support

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Allemagne Roßmann 26 September 2012

Actions and reactions are so spontaneous that time is not enough alone to regret. So goes human controlled by time in hands of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years.Unstoppable.Wonderful poetry to nourish the mind here.Well done Sir
