What I Had Is Already Gone Poem by Iris Mista

What I Had Is Already Gone

And suddenly I see and realize
No way back, not ever a return
What I had is already gone
Dropping deep in lonely concern

Floating away, all on my own
I try to desperately hold on
What is no longer there
Don't ask me to be strong!

Any second ticking the loss
devoured like autumns deal
What is gone can not be seen
And therefore no longer real

Veiled dreams slowly disappear
Leaving me lonesome behind
Drifting away so far apart
Until bygone dust is all I find

Because everything is temporary
Even the existence of my heart
the collapse of my unabiding soul
An end of a long forgotten start
