I wonder after all these years,
If I were in the wrong places.
No qualms over what I chose,
But now is, as it has always been.
Every trail ever, merely led to this,
My entirety compromised. Zilch.
Nevertheless I do remember,
Didn't I unwind, when I needed to?
Didn't I dance, when I wanted to?
Didn't I smile, when I could?
It's just not that time anymore.
The winds have changed,
Now I'm not being followed.
Bracing myself; for it will be solitary,
I know, I have been here before.
But I've grown older.
This heart is not as sturdy,
As it once was.
The prime of my existence,
Shall keep me grounded,
Until… the next round.
Coz what goes up,
Must come down.
