What Could Have Been... Poem by Jerinico Vincent Batac

What Could Have Been...

Rating: 3.5

Sittin near the pond, stationary
Minding thoughts of past and present
As this beautiful thing ward off my weary
Walked pass my gaze, caught by her scent
Oh! What a beauty you are
Hair so shiny, so smooth as it weaves through the air
Stunning your eyes as they shine like a bright star
Those lips even gods kiss won't dare
Oh! what a thing of sight you are
I'm overwhelmed by just the gaze of you
I wonder what my chances are
Will i dare to approach a thing of beauty like you?
Sittin, still unease
Wondering if i should come to you and offer my hand
Stuck still, every second wasted as she flees
Is there anything i could do than just stand?
Please don't go!
Tense, as i could feel the rush of my blood flow
Is there anyway time could go slow?
What am i here waiting for?
Mind set as i stood up,
To approach that beautiful thing i havn't given up
Eyes went looking, searching
Still couldn't find even a trace of that beauty thing
Exhausted as i sat down,
Eyes went frown
'Til now still thinkin of that beauty thing I've seen,
Wondering if i had approach her...I wonder, what could have been...

I gave this a 7 because I just don't feel the words or phrases are as well collected as they should be. There was one good section. That was worth reading, but the rest simply was not. It is a common theme that was obvious in the first lines which made it predictable and the approach was void of creativity. Still, with all that, it came close with a 7. I guess I'm a little torn because I know the effort being made. GW62
