What Color And Image Is Democracy Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

What Color And Image Is Democracy

Thieves on a rampage.
Outraged and made crazed.
By delusions lived to fiction,
Lost of common sense.
And mentalities historically, From them stolen.
To have these times believe,
One they picked to be...
Their leader.
Has frauded and deceived,
Their way of life...
Within their borders.
Is being threatened.
And an image created by lies,
Has begun to become...
Replaced by the face,
Of diversity.
A diversity that diminishes,
What they symbolize.
Done to idolize and worship.

'So...
What are they outraged,
And crazed about? '

The color of democracy.
Deities,
They have been taught...
Created all of humanity.
And all life forms existing.

'And...
What color is democracy?
Who believes they fit,
That image reflecting it..
Exclusively? '

Hey...
I know God works,
In the most...
Unexplained mysterious ways.
However...
Neither am I a psychologist.
Hypnotist, psychiatrist.
Pharmacist or magician!
And these days,
I am willing to bet...
Even they are addicted,
To some kind,
Of mind numbing medication.

'All it takes,
Is one fool to be believed! '

Excuse me?
Are you calling me a fool?

'No.
Of course not.
Not literally.

Oh.
Okay.
Not...what?
Huh?
