War For What Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

War For What

Rating: 5.0

War at fingertips;
War at lips
War between nears
And between dears
And between neighbours
And between nations
And within nations
War for what
And over what
Flared up
At the slightest provocation
Over wealth, ego, pride
And dignity, name and fame
Supposed to be
The possessions of God
We are gifted with
Out to dispossess Him
Of His possessions
Everybody wants
To be big brother
To go up, to the top
To touch and intrude Heaven
None could stand none
Forgetting God that
He is watching us
And our actions
Can dispossess us
Of our valuables
In no time
Through His weapons
Like earthquake, tsunami
And other natural calamities
Ours fade before His
Still we fight over nothing
Claiming ours as everything
Supposed to be God’s belongings
And hatred we are breeding
And life is too short
For spite and any bitter feeling
But long enough for love
And love lives on ever
And links world and humanity forever.......
