Valley Of Death Poem by Mary Gilliam

Valley Of Death

I was promised a paved path to follow
But I fell into the thicket and lost my way
I was promised smooth sailing
But I'm in a hurricane
I was promised that it would get easier
But it gets harder until I can't bear the weight
Yes I walk through the valley of the shadow of death and in envelopes me trying to pull me in
It's been said God doesn't deal out more than we can handle
So why does He trust me with all this weight?
Aren't there stronger mortals out there?
