Valentine's Day Poem by Randy McClave

Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day to every single friend
Especially when you have no card to send,
And when there is no loved one on your thoughts
To give chocolates to, or Forget Me Nots.
No special one to take out on a Valentine's date
Not even the one that you would want as a mate,
So, you once again sit alone in your chair
Then deep into nothingness you again just stare.
You wished that you had sent out a Valentine's card
You wished Happy Valentine's Day was in your yard,
But, you're still single as you were last year
So, there will be no happy Valentine's Day here.
There will be no flowers for you to buy
And there will be no special desserts for you to try,
No romantic song for you to listen or to dance to
Because, again this year there it's only you.
You haven't found the love that you were looking for
And you never heard Cupid knocking on your door,
Your heart belongs to you and not to no one other
Your alone again, without a lover.
You now again think about the lovers of your past
And how you now wished that special one did last,
Sadly, though these words you will never hear or say
"I wish you a Happy Valentine's Day".
