Unthought Purpose Poem by Alex Mars

Unthought Purpose

Rating: 5.0

What do I want in life?
Every person asks themselves this question from time to time and the answer, regardless of the context, is always the same.
We want what we can't have.
It's in our nature to fight for what we can never have.
Once you achieve your goal, you move on to the next bigger and better prize because nothing is ever enough.
Many live their lives in this exact way, always searching for something more, something else, something greater.
I don't believe this is why we exist.
We aren't here to throw away everything we work for just to move on and find something further.
The real truth is that everything we need or could ever want is right in front of us.
So many people simply refuse to open their eyes and come out of the shadow of a life they have been living.
Once you open your own eyes and look at the world around you, it's just a matter of finding your own purpose...
