Tower Of Souls Ii Poem by Robert Green

Tower Of Souls Ii

Rating: 5.0

Dark clouds overhead
Thunder rolls, lightening strikes
The tower dark and gloomy
Lit up in the night

It calls for my being
Door open just ajar
Begging, inviting, all seeing
A voice from deep within

Falling, tumbling
Sinking deeper
Into this dark tower
The call of the Reaper

Hand on handle
Door squeaking
Am I pushing?
Hinges creaking.

Calls of the Tortured souls inciting
Demons and sirens inviting
Darkness like a cloak
Water wrapping around you like a moat.

Promises of forgetfulness
The comfort of dreamless sleep
No touch of tenderness
Try pulling back from the deep

Life throws at you it's Tempest
The Tower dark and bleak
Offers the traveller rest
The shelter he seeks.
