Together Poem by Edwina Reizer

Together for years that get swept away
and yet apart sometimes,
brings me to a place everyday
when I sit and write my rhymes.
There is no solace for a heart
that is unsure of what you feel.
I’m sure my heart must be thinking
“If she could only steal
the calmness of surety, the peace of security
then I could be at rest.”
But I cannot offer this to my heart
even though I try my best.
The only thing I can honestly say
are the years get swept away.
