Thoughts Of A Passer-By Poem by Khairul Ahsan

Thoughts Of A Passer-By

Rating: 5.0

Never shall my feet touch this distant soil again,
Never shall my eyes watch this placid lake again!
God's Earth is vast and we as passers by
Can only exclaim, what, when, how and why!

I often ask what and how. Never 'why'. Any intent is beyond my ken. Nature is oft my muse. Peace

@Akhtar Jawad, Thank you so much for reading the poem. 'Sorrowful joy' is a poetic expression that applies appropriately to my feelings when I had written the poem.

What a very touching, melancholic poem! So full of human feeling and sighs. Evocative and lovely.
