The Symbols Of Racism Poem by Hebert Logerie

The Symbols Of Racism

Please remove the symbols of racism from our parks
Please get rid of the statues of hate next to our lakes
Put them in the old bunkers, put them in the basements
In the rusty coffers or bury them under the pavements.

Please unite against racism, bigotry, avarice, oppression
Conscious or unconscious bias, hate, greed and division
God created men and women with mud, not with diamond
Gold is nothing but a special rock made of mud and sand.

Please remove the symbols of disunity, suffering and pain
You and I are one. We are one. We need to fight to win
We need to eradicate the ills and the wrongs of our society.

God is unity, love, good stuff, harmony, compassion and beauty
God abhors ugliness, discrimination, cruelty, greed and negativity
Imagine how great it is to get along with everyone in the country.
