The Summer Flood Poem by Indira Renganathan

The Summer Flood

Rating: 5.0

This day
when I'm somber and sad
A huge curtain of clouds comes
And stops your entry
Oh Father Sun, I know
Clouds are mischievous
But you..
Do you care to clear
My added gloom
Cajoling me with your gentle warmth..no
A sudden summerly agony
Youshoot on the clouds
Right when I'm
In a flood of tears..
So what...you ask?
Clouds too join me
In a havoc of tears, that's all
Just a single day's event
Proves you are mightily bad
You console neither me nor
Your spouse, our mother Earth
Waiting
For your springy gentleness
Father Sun

On certain days, we feel very glum. Suddenly if the bright sky turns cloudy, that will badly affect our mood and add to our sense of gloom! On the contrary a sunny and bright day will make us happy. I have experienced this mood swing. On a dull day when it is drizzling continuously or when the sky is laden with clouds, I feel more lonely and sick at heart! Brilliant composition!

Sometimes when we are in pains seeing the sufferings around us, we ask God why in His kingdom this happens! When we are tormented by Nature's fury, we think Nature is bad and pray Her to calm down and have mercy upon us. A lovely poem, thanks for sharing.
