The Search For Truth (Villanelle) Poem by J22 Poet

The Search For Truth (Villanelle)

Long the ship will sail
Burdened with falsehood
In the end, will truth prevail?

The progress towards truth is as slow as a snail
Untruth seeps into the wood
Long the ship will sail

The sailors' faces have all turned pale
Nothing can come of any good
In the end, will truth prevail?

The vessel has now begun to ail
They would go back if they could
Long the ship will sail

Battles fought, to no avail
The question is understood
In the end, will truth prevail?

It is hard, but no one will bail
They do not no how long they have stood
Long the ship will sail
In the end, will truth prevail?
