The Sands Of Time Poem by Richard Anders

The Sands Of Time

The sands of time ran out for me
I hung around on Earth a while
not sure of where to go.

I must say I enjoyed myself
I took a trip to Spain
and then I flew to Timbuktu
and did not need a plane.

I climbed the highest mountain
I swam the deepest sea
I panned for gold like men of old
then sailed the China sea.

I took myself far back in time
to when the Earth was new
the grass was as green as you`ve never seen
and the sky was electric blue.

Blue mountains mirrored in the sea
and trees and lakes abound
and birds and bees were at their ease
beside me on the ground.

Can Heaven last forever
do all things have an end
does life go on from dusk `til dawn
Oh yes it does my friend!

Now I`ve changed the scene somewhat
I do this at my will
five snowhite angels sing to me
beside a waterfall.

To-day I met my loved ones
I met them all to-day
we walked and talked `til moonlight
then went our separate way.

Sometimes I sit by perfumed streams
and dream the hours away
or watch the trees sway in the breeze
or little lambs at play.

It`s Paradise in Heaven friend
you just do what you will
the Sun is shining all day long
and there`s no electric bill!

The moral of this story is
that when you`re called to leave
remember what The Good Lord said
'Just ask and you`ll receive! '

There is much already known about heaven, but the details are not that great. But our imaginations can take us places we otherwise have never been. Someday, we shall know as we are known. But until then.........
