Richard Anders Poems

Arise pale moon and be my guide
I journey where Valkyries ride
across the stars in silver streams
into the valley of endless dreams
...

When I was still a young man
I heard God call my name
'Eddie Stark, my fine young man
I`m going to give you fame'
...

I wish I wish I were a fish
a salmon or an eel
I`d swim across the Ocean blue
to see how it would feel.
...

the night was dark and dreary
the rain was lashing down
i was wet right through from hat to shoe
and i`d lost my way to town
...

I wanted to live in the country
away from the city I`d dwell
I wanted to live in the country
just me all alone by myself
...

The sands of time ran out for me
I hung around on Earth a while
not sure of where to go.
...

One day I sat upon a stone
and thought that I was all alone
but sitting perched upon a log
my eyes beheld a little frog
...

The ice the ice the crushing ice
our ship is held in a freezing vice
it`s fifty below N.W.of Nome
and some of the crew are crying for home
...

The polar night was clear and bright
and icy through and through
the wind was rough but we were tough
and we all had a job to do
...

When time is called and I must go
exactly where I`d like to know
will it be Heaven or down below
no sun no wind no rain and no snow
...

Seize the hour seize the day
for in the end we pass away
don`t be sad cry if you must
ashes to ashes and dust to dust
...

Harry Jack lay on his back
his body racked with pain
he had but three more months to live
he`d never rise again.
...

I hit the road five years ago
I`m running from the law
I shot a man in Abilene
I beat him to the draw.
...

The day was hot and dusty
as Jake rode into town
a mean look in his ice-blue eyes
his dark hair hid a frown
...

Of hopes and dreams I`ve many
to see the world at large
to cross the Gobi Desert
or camp by Lake Le Barge.
...

Shadows on the ceiling
Shadows on the wall
Shadows on the curtains
Shadows over all.
...

The Best Poem Of Richard Anders

Tempo Finis

Arise pale moon and be my guide
I journey where Valkyries ride
across the stars in silver streams
into the valley of endless dreams

look not for me in forest green
nor yet by the seas white crest
the ice queen in her frosty gown
has locked me to her breast

silver stars shine in her hair
electric blue her gaze
in palaces of driven snow
she spends her timeless days

no mortal arms shall hold her
no mortal lips shall lie
but I shall rest upon her breast
and time will pass me by.
