The Rainbow Smiles. Poem by Maria Shaw

The Rainbow Smiles.

I live a life of make believe
there's no corruption, no lies, no greed.

The rainbow smiles, no longer frowns,
no gold is buried beneath the ground.

Diamonds and pearls hold no wealth
and emeralds bring no envy.

The grass is always green
at both sides of the stream.

This life I lead is so serene
this fantasy of which I dream.

I live from the land under no one's command
my future, my fate is in my hands.
