Jealousy Poem by Maria Shaw

Jealousy

Jealousy completely overwhelmed me
I drove love away in awe of my constant insecurity.

I loved too deeply, I clung too tight,
he disappeared into the night.

Just a glance in the wrong direction
was enough to set the wheels in motion.

My finger rested on the delicate trigger
as emotional frenzy erupted.

Inadequacy fueled fire with a vengeance
emotions exploded, I lost all control.

The green eyed monster enslaved me
and now there is no hope.
