The Pool Poem by Jim O'Donnell

The Pool

Water still and running deep
I dangle my toes in from my seat
Fish see darting all around
But when I listen not a sound

Cows are grazing in the field
What a wondrous life I feel
In this place just all alone
Thinking of the times that’s gone

Remembering when just a lad
Came down here with my dad
Fishing swimming camping out
And no one else round about

Those days have gone feeling sad
Those loving memories of my dad
The sun it shines upon my face
Will always love this quite place

This is poignantly beautiful and refreshingly vivid, i like the first lines that paint a view of the scenery and the memories of a loving father that laced the last lines. 10++++
