Desert Island Poem by Jim O'Donnell

Desert Island

Rating: 4.0

Footsteps on a sandy shore
Are they the ones from me before?
Swam to the shore from the sea
From a ship wreck catastrophe

Survivor I’m only one
Are these my footsteps in the sun?
Kneeling down look at the print
And there I see a familiar dint
Toe bent in and looking squint

My heart it falls been here before
These are my print upon this shore
Hours of just walking round
My own footprints I have found
