The Poetry Is... Poem by Edwin Ellis

The Poetry Is...

1. like getting the phone
To send a message
Without line or contacts.

2. like a teddy bear:
A harmless sample
of something dangerous.

3. like waking up
with something on the leg
going forward.

4. like an abandoned car
with a dog inside
waiting for its owner.

5. like honest people;
there are few
but worth finding.

6. like a carpenter
try to drill
the stone with his fingers.

7. like the most difficult
that could happen,
But slowly.

8. like a electric eel:
If it does not shake it's dead
and we must bury it.

9. also like Pepa,
the drawing of children,
a little pig.

10. as on Sundays
when it arrives on monday
or on Saturday.

11. like your mother,
like my mother
also, sacred.

12. like the neighbor of 703,
sometimes we meet
and used the elevator.

13. like the neighbor of 701,
he makes a lot of noise
but he never speaks.

14. like the concierge,
if he is you get in,
if he is not you wait.

15. like a woodworm,
it's not a worm
though it may seem.

16. like crochet,
sometimes you feel lost
and then out.

17. like the ball of wool,
there is more to unravel
than knit.

18. like the intake of alcohol,
dies a poem
every ten seconds.

19. like open a hole
in the center of a wall
and see the other side.

20. like build a wall
where there was a hole
and remember the other side.

Of all, I like 19th, for whatever reasons. Variety in perception, it shows. Thanks for sharing the thought provoking poem.
