Rajasthan Poem by Edwin Ellis

Rajasthan

Yesterday I thought a lot about Rajasthan;
Leave them all, everything,
And go to Rajasthan
To start another life,
to learn another language,
Play drums,
starve...
(Silent mode on)
I trembled at the emotion,
I almost cried, maybe I cried;
Every cell in my body
jumped for joy in the office,
For the emotion of leaving everything, to all of you,
The call of vertigo was so deep...
Forgive me, forgive me all of you,
For staying like this.

Ayer pensé mucho en Rajastán;
dejarlos a todos, a todo,
e irme a Rajastan
a comenzar otra vida,
aprender otro idioma,
tocar tambores,
morir de hambre...
(Modo silencio activado)
Temblaba de la emoción,
casi lloraba, a lo mejor lloré;
cada célula de mi cuerpo
brincaba de alegría en la oficina
por la emoción de dejarlo todo, a todos,
era tan fuerte el llamado del vértigo...
Perdóname, perdónenme todos,
por quedarme así.
