Jayatissa K. Liyanage Poems

What worth it is of
a diamond hill in Jupiter?
Who cares a jumbo golden pearl
fossilized in Satan’s dark abyss?
...

Clad in long white pants
Folded ‘n Tucked up at ankle
Seated on mate's cycle bar
Arrived he, at our village school
...

From the day ‘I' viewed the first ray
All fell on line, to have paved my way
Being conscious of, the role ought to play
Treaded the path, idling, not a single day
...

Cries in happiness
Smiles in soreness
Absorb harshness
Deliver gentleness
...

Your passion, not that I don’t like it;
But at times, turn out to be out of wit
Your tickle, caress and cuddle, I do admit
Honestly, I esteem and enjoy true to heart
...

Admired always in the heart
Never ever failed smile, on face
Nice and fine association we had
Enthrall memories, so sweet
...

Golden rays fallen free on her
reflected out making no use of
Rays, cast out from sunlit moon
not hording a bit for herself
...

Hidden in the clue, came along with return mail
So fearful and loathsome, in ghostly shadow
Now, how can I make my mind to write an elegy
Very next moment I sent you birthday greetings?
...

In rage, red hot fireball
On the skyline ablaze
Emits its rays, charring up
every thing caught, to charcoal
...

Just as much every one else has
an identity, un to one self
being one, of nine billions
I too am called 'Sinhalese', for
...

You being a chick in our nest
when took to your tenderly wings,
on test, for the first time
Something, I remember, truly bothered me
...

Suddenly reminiscing, you and our love
Get a kick, I, feeling wonderful
You and I, when in our shining teens
I loved you and you loved me, head over heal
...

Kitty, stealthily working towards a target, from the ground
Squirrie on the tree, knowing what he is up to,
enjoyed a mango, exercising caution to the dot
and notices Kitty's moves accurately

Value Of A Teardrop........

What worth it is of
a diamond hill in Jupiter?
Who cares a jumbo golden pearl
fossilized in Satan’s dark abyss?
What earthly use of a rainbow
Bridging an oceanic chasm?
What value is of a tear,
human eye never let out and shed?

I'm very grateful that you enjoyed my poem about the World Cup. I especially liked your poem about the mother, although it was sad she was murdered.

*T shirt, not T short. Pardon the typo. (It is time for all school boys to take revenge on their PT teachers! Let's start in Colombo! Or better still in Galle or Kandy!)

Thank you so much for embracing my poem An Ode To the President! I am but one voice, however, I represent the silence that others speak here in America. My motto is, how can were succeed if we don't believe! Peace and blessings to you, Sarita

Jayatissa K. Liyanage Quotes

A second opinion on anything to do with life, if not an alternative, may be a reshaping to one's own.

One who is not honest to one's own conscience, shall never be honest to anyone outside.

An explosion, be it of any kind is the expression of an uncontrolled pressure from within.

Value of anything is not real unless and until that thing is possessed and lost possession of.

Failure in any attempt is only an expression of inadequacy.
