The Plea Of A Mosquito Poem by Ontomu William

The Plea Of A Mosquito

Call me any name you like but it does not matter
My Name is MOSQUITO, Anopheles, Culex, Aedes
All this you have called me but my name is Mosquito
Hear me plead my case, dear humans, and dear friends

I know how you have branded me, I know the names
By which you insult me, yet, hear me plead my case
My dear friends and long-term companions
My good name is tattered all over the tropical

You have spread rumors all over the world, bad rumors
About my name and my endeavors across the topical
You have marshaled your friends to put on gears
Very protective gears! Is this how you treat a companion?

My folk go yawning all day, with repellents all over!
With infected blood in the name of prevention,
Oh my God! What have we done to deserve this friends?
Hear me plead my case dear humans, dear friends

You have accused us of Malaria, we take the blow!
You have accused me of Yellow Fever and Dengue!
On top of that, you even blame for Chikungunya!
I hear even Zika and West Nile Virus, OH my God!

Hear me plead my case dear humans, dear friends
No one of my Folks has ever suffered from all the above!
Not even a single soldier have I lost of my people
From these ailments you blame on us!

Forgive me for this, even ticks do carry Malaria!
I swear you don't want us to survive, for real!
How do we live if we can't eat! How will we? !
When we are surrounded by infected humans?
You only end up blaming us! How so unfair to us!
BY nature, you also feed, on Chicken, cows and others
Yet these have never complained like you do!
Is it because of Malaria Vaccine Menace?

Dear friends, please hear our plea and judge
Who is infected between Mosquitoes and humans? !
Who is more inhuman between mosquitoes and humans?
Who kills and maims and rapes men, women and children?
Who fights for no cause and destroys life for fun?
Dear friends, please hear our plea and judge
