The Ocean Poem by Rajagopalan Kumar

The Ocean

Rating: 5.0

Ocean at Night: 

Water water everywhere, deep down to the ocean floor

Rhythmic rise and fall of swirling watermounds

Dancing to the music of the windtoward the ground

Dark and lonely wilderness far across thewater moor.

Icy winds blow across the water moor in a gale

Creating roaring waves temporary hills and vales

Amidst the eerier darkness is seen a glimmering ray

A lonely ship trudges in, from far beyond the bay.

Ocean at Day: 

The dawn of day, brings the beach to a gay

The yawning sunrises up from the deep

Fisher folk boats scramble across the deep

Sea gulls hovering atop dive in, for their prey.

The beach sports deserted look with the rise of day

Save an occasional idle peddler wandering astray

Twilight blooms the beach with urchins at play

Slowly slide back to the roar of themoonlit waves.
