The Mountains Poem by Rajagopalan Kumar

The Mountains

From up above the lofty flying blues
In a mind boggling bird's eye view
Static silky white waves of barren ice
Glaringly hazardous to the bare eyes.

From yonder plains a panoramic view
Rocky grey armored soldiers in duty array
Silver white helmets with plumes in blue
Whether sun or rain, stay put night and day.

For the peasants and tribes of the woods
She is Goddess, the giver of all their goods
Ground for youths to show their mountaineering skills
Full of grace, calm turf for their cattle to graze
Perennial source of water, for all their hamlet needs
House of herbs, for many of their body ills
For the villagers, Divine witness for all their deeds.
