The Last Will Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

The Last Will

Last will
If I am hanged
After judgment
My will shall be given to family
“I am so sorry”

I wanted you to marry
But he did not plead guilty
My dream shall remain dream
The daughter’s marriage hunted him

“I have done nothing wrong”
I was common man among
But his words were so hollow
No one was moved

How many innocents were killed?
It was so simple to be jailed
He was sure till the last minute
Some miracle shall take place and defeat the judgment

The verdict has come
Much to the relief and welcomed
“Justice has been delivered” the country was informed
Majority of the people rightly formed an opinion
