‘What lips my lips have kissed'
by Edna St. Vincent Millay
has inspired me to share with you
these humble thoughts today.
There were a few lips that I kissed
in days of yesteryear,
and many more I sadly missed
could have been mine; it's clear.
Sweet Geraldine with eyes of green
just loved to kiss the guys.
If germs from me went from her lips
to Lloyd, it's no surprise.
I know he passed some germs to me
by way of Anne Marie,
and Lyman got some germs from Joe
because of AnnaLee.
There were some illnesses we got,
but such was meant to be,
because we did our best to spread
the herd immunity!
The lips that have kissed. A series of them spreading germs from one to another. A remarkable poem dear Kim. Your poems are always interesting and funny too. I enjoy reading them.....10
My first two comments are items I copied and pasted here from my online search. : ) bri Yes, humans are only specialized cows and pigs.
This immunity can be developed naturally when the body makes antibodies after a viral infection that can help fight the infection better the next time. Herd immunity can also happen through vaccination.
How Does Herd Immunity Work? Herd immunity is something that happens when a large number of people in a community develop immunity—or the body's own protection—against a contagious disease.
I may come back to read again and comment. Remind me. I want to get off PC now! bri : )

Kim, YOUR POETRY ALWAYS BRIGHTENS MY DAY! Even while I'm listening to Gordon Lightfoot's sad songs.
Ah, Richard, thanks so much for the comment. I love Gordon Lightfoot's singing.
