The Fullness Of A Spring Day~ Poem by Theodora (Theo) Onken

The Fullness Of A Spring Day~

Rating: 5.0

Fresh-faced and in guiless wonder
i bask as an Ambassador Of Dawn
Much like an old relic of time-only brand new
Decked out in full wearing my green-natured gown;
At one with such pleasantries- most sweet
Of Honeysuckle to the coiling of the emerald vine
With a discourse from the Cardinals & Sparrows on wing
And the most fragrant bouquets of afternoons most sublime;
For as the day opened much as a new bud of Spring
Complete with Warblers in a choir with Psalms
That linger 'til a full bloom of afternoon-comes calling
With it's blue sky and heavenly calm;
Oh, and the lemon yellow sun- shown forth
So alive in the late afternoon- aqua sky
Beaming it's efflugent light 'til day 'tis done
While twilight 'tis all but nigh;
Not to tarry for long- -in mere minutes passed
Soon the dusk beckons the ebon's to set in
Long before the clocks hands of midnight strike
All settled in-all comfy & ready for slumber once again;
