The Doorknob Poem by Daipayan Nair

The Doorknob

You hold the doorknob
and a grip of assurance
takes shape.

Petals will shake hands
One with its recent night, still alive
The other with its hopeful day

I see the palm lotus stalk
twisting around none,

as the air come and go
without a final say.
