The Detachment I Desire Poem by Abdul Wahab

The Detachment I Desire

Rating: 5.0

I desire not to belong to any one
Nor I wish to have some one to belong to me
Though I have no demand to them
Yet I fear to fail to fulfil my responsibility
As I have no control
On my own heart and soul
Moreover, I know without doubt that
One day this vehicle will go down
Under the impulse of sea
So I want to detach beforehand
As I can not tolerate tears
Some one to shed
Or take their fortune
When I sink
Along with me

Want to detach beforehand is the best way for man. With one's departure inevitable, all the attachments will only increase agony in the remaining days. Sentiments beautifully delivered in the poem. Thank you.
