The Blame Game Poem by Barry Van Allen

The Blame Game

Rating: 3.3

They gotta' blame somebody,
for all that doubt and hurt,
if the blame is laid for open gates,
look in the mirror first.

They gotta' blame somebody,
for promises un-kept,
what should have been, seems right again,
like the times you can't forget.

They always gotta' blame someone,
when things are at thier worst,
let those who are without the sin,
get thier rocks off first.

That should tell you, then and there,
where to cast your gaze,
because the guilty are the least amazed,
and the first to point a finger,
they volunteer, then don't appear,
and are the least likely to linger.

Someone recently told me...'A strong man...blames himself; a weak man...blames others.' Great poem Barry...true enough...it seems that someone always needs to take the blame...whether they deserve it...or not. Hugs, Dee

Politics may not have been where you were going with your poem, but it is where it took me.
