Appreciate Poem by Barry Van Allen

Appreciate

Rating: 2.8

Feeling fine one day,
next day struck by illness,
feeling like you will never dance again,
when sweet health again returns,
feeling fine one day, and next forgotten.

Feeling fine one day,
next day struck by sorrow,
hurting more than deeply,
saying ' there's tomorrow '.

Feeling fine one day,
next one struck by lonliness,
no more warming nights to share together,
when sweet love again returns,
feeling fine one day,
perhaps, again, to be forgotten.

Appreciation lost on sliding scales,
and the little things forgotten by you,
sort of tell you what you have to do,
to understand their value.

liked this, the repeated lines and rhymes, although wasn't too sure about the meter in the last stanza (but I'm not too sure about the meter in any of my poems, either) . -chuck
