Sweet Waters Of Love Poem by Elena Sandu

Sweet Waters Of Love

The last time
I watched your
sweet dear face
wished I could cry.

Tears to fill the space
between us
with a river,
so immense

that it would feed
with beauty,
all of your life
true, you deserve it
so very much.

Wash everything
with a peaceful flow
that comes within.

May then
all salt evaporate
into shining stones
to be licked
by pairs
of elk and deer.

Shall we sit near
and watch them sniff
the fragrance of flowers
grown on both riverbanks
how their brown eyes
will shine even more.

Let them become
our chief guides
transform our eye sight
into flickering stars.

And may all rivers
between us
for more than
evermore let flow
sweeten waters of love.
