Stagnant Water Poem by RAJNI CHHABRA

Stagnant Water

Rating: 5.0

Stagnant water

No ripples

No movement.

No rustling winds

No bright sunshine

No feeling divine

No chanting in shrines

Life has become

Like this only

In C O V I D times.

How I long to see

Children going to school

Or Merrily playing in park

Barren roads again

Fluttering with traffic

Shopping complexes

Busily occupied till dark

Folks moving fearlessly

Getting rid of home-confinement

Long parted near and dear ones

Meeting again, with emotions sublime

I invoke Mercy of God

To give us back

Freedom of body and mind

Let past life rewind.
