Eternal Loneliness Poem by RAJNI CHHABRA

Eternal Loneliness

Rating: 4.0

On the withered grass
Of orchard
She was
Sitting alone

And in front of her eyes
In her vision were
Blossom like kids
Giggling n playing

In the deserted corner
A stranger passed by
His eyes, abruptly
Met with her eyes.

Caged by traditions
Confined heart beats
Hesitant words
Mum lips
Downcast eyes
Something remained
Unheard, unushered.

The moment passed
Leaving behind
Vacuum in life.

knowing and still
Pretending to be ignorant
They parted
And could never
Meet again in life
Like two branches
Of thicket

Only pang of
Hurt heart was
Why you did not
Disclose your mind
At that instant only

She is lonely
Since epochs
He is forlorn
Since ages
And blossom like kids
kept giggling n playing.

There is an all encompassing mysticism in the poetry of Rajni Chhabra. This poem is no exception. Against the backdrop of a chance meeting of two strangers who depart without any perceptible interaction, human life comes in for an interpretation. Life goes on. Thanks. She is lonely / Since epochs He is forlorn / Since ages
